The real time rendering community is growing each day. There are many different interesting projects based on OpenGL. Many people are working on real time rendering, shadowing and global illuminations, but only a small community is really hard working towards new technologies. Of course for static scene we have still a lot of good technologies to enhance real time rendering results, but for dynamic scene, moving lights we are still faraway of good results. We need new approaches, of course the graphicial industrie does lot of research. But we need faster and more accelerated algorithm. With multi-core CPU and GPU systems we can achieve very high quality in a very short time. Real Time Ray Tracing will be soon a very important task for all graphics applications, like games, outdoor and indoor scenes with high dynamic lighting!
